CyberAg 2021 Symposium
April 14, 2021
As agriculture increasingly depends on technology to increase production and efficiencies, many developing issues need to be addressed:
- How is data protected?
- What is the role of data in an open source environment?
- Who controls (and accesses) the proprietary aspects of farmer and grower data?
- What are best practices?
These questions are still being answered. This #CyberAg event follows an inaugural symposium in December 2020. In addition to raising awareness about the intersection of cyber-security and agriculture, it introduced the potential business opportunities between the cyber and agriculture sectors.
During the one-day virtual symposium in April, various subject matter experts in agriculture and cybersecurity (from private, government and nonprofit sectors) will continue to address the cybersecurity and data challenges faced in agriculture. These actionable insights will assuredly prompt continued symposiums (and spin-off innovation challenges) to further the training, awareness and education of the agriculture sector toward cyber and data issues.
